In lieu of these not so enjoyable side affects, trying to eat 300 to 500 or so calories less per day should lead to a loss of between one to three pounds per week. This is a realistic target. Now if you want to lose weight fast you can certainly do that as well but it will require more dedication and focus from you than simply just cutting back on caloric intake.

Many studies have shown that the key to true long term weight control consists of a diet based on a high intake of colorful fruits and vegetables, reasonable portion sizes, and healthy fats, along with a moderate exercise program and modest expectations. Also if you drink soda try to switch to something healthier instead, water, tea, V8 juice etc. Soda simply gives you empty calories and adds to your calories for the day by over 150 per can. Before switching to diet soda to offset this, most diet soda’s possess an ingredient called aspartame. This ingredient is very bad for you, simply do a google search on it and many results will tell you why.
