Remarks On The New Air Lauderdale Beachfest
Air Lauderdale Beach Fest, Fort Lauderdale’s new air show attraction, scheduled for April 24-25, received itself national exposure this week on the news. Stan Smith talked about the event that is to be happening on Fort Lauderdale beach. The show that will be planned will this year retains a ways to venture to top the remarkable Air & Sea Show that was delivered to us by Mickey Markoff for 13 consecutive years. Smith’s version can be a gated event, with $5 admission prior to event, $10 marriage ceremony in the event. An admission charge, perhaps for premier seating, may be possible, the contract requires any charge to be “minimal.” Smith declared he hopes to generate an event that may be manageable using the influx of recent sponsors.
Smith is focusing on more of a festival atmosphere, having a “Green Village” where he admits that businesses can show eco-friendly services, a politics village for candidates to create shop, and some music along with other non-air-show related offerings.
They’ll also have to handle environmental concerns. Dan Clark, president of Cry in the Water environmental group, told commissioners that protected reefs offshore can’t be harmed by boat anchors while they have in past shows. He urged the organizers to begin talking to regulatory agencies.
Much is ahead of Smith and Savor if they’re to bring back the party. Their next stop is the U.S. military, to see when and if the hardware can be purchased. Then sponsors will be sought to underwrite the show.
