Energy technology and your home

We should be doing everything achievable to develop geothermal free energy technologies. This area has not yet been probed very deeply, but it has huge potential, as it is available from mother earth. Enormous amounts of free energy lie under the upper crust of the earth, on which we lie, and all that is needed is to tap the source and take control over it.

At the Earth’s’ center, the temperature is sixty times more than that of water being boiled and the fantastic heat creates forces that exert themselves only a couple of miles below us. This enormous heat is a store of massive free energy and result in super hot fluids called magma, which we can see whenever a volcano erupts. These fluids also filter to the surface as steam and come forth from vents.

We can produce our own vents, and we can develop out own containment chambers for the magma and convert all of this free energy into electricity to light and heat our homes. A geothermic plant can be produced if we dig a well on the ground where there is a rich source of magma or hot fluid, then fit the well with a pipe which would pump up the hot fluid to ground level for the production of required steam. The steam would operate a turbine, which in turn would produce electrical energy.

There is lots of skepticism regarding the tapping geothermic energy sources, which is preventing large-scale production of this energy. Skeptics claim that finding the right area for tapping these resources would be too costly as well as time-consuming. In addition, the set up cost of a geo-thermal plant is again cost-prohibitive and there is not guarantee that the venture would yield profits later. It might be found that a geothermal site is ultimately not producing enough steam to make the plant feasible or promising.

Unfortunately we also hear from conservationists who worry that bringing up magma can bring up potentially damaging materials along with it. However, the great benefits of geo-thermal free energy would subsume these criticisms if only we would explore it more. The truth of the matter is that since this energy is produced by earth itself, it cannot contain any important pollutants. geothermal free energy is an efficient free energy source – easy to develop after site identification and the set up of the plant to develop it.

It is also a fact that geo-thermal plants are not as massive as electrical plants, dams or atomic energy units and this means that it would not disturb the environment too much. Nevertheless, it is an alternative form of energy and using it would mean we become that much less dependent on oil and coal. The most fundamental point in the favor of geothermic free energy is that we would never run it out and nor would its value appreciate with time, as it is an limitless source. Since in the end the use of geo-thermal free energy is cost-effective the cost of building the power station can be recovered in no time.
