All about The Other Guys Movie
A comedy film that has gotten positive reviews from audiences and critics alike is called The Other Guys. An action-comedy starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, and Samuel L. Jackson, the movie is a hit in movie theaters, DVD rentals, and DVD sales. The Other Guys trailer is a popular download as well.
The story is creative. When officers Danson (Dwayne Johnson) and Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) give chase to a group of thugs in a car, there is a brief gun battle that results in the hood of Highsmith’s car getting blown into the windshield. The two crash spectacularly into the side of a double decker bus. Danson drives in after the thugs and amazingly slingshots the car out the other side of the bus. Highsmith crashes into Trump Tower, firing the whole way, somehow surviving. The criminals at first manage to escape, but police backup quickly arrives and brings them into custody.
Police Detective Gamble (played by Will Ferrell) is a forensic accountant who is more interested in tedious paperwork than street patrol, but looks up to Detectives Highsmith and Danson. Disgraced Police Detective Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since he shot baseball star Derek Jeter during the World Series. Allen and Hoitz accordingly receive no respect from other detectives. They trick Allen into firing his gun in the office, leaving him with a wooden practice gun as punishment. Hoitz detests Allen’s taste in music, his singing while driving and the fact that he has a beautiful wife. During one chase of some bank robbers, Danson and Highsmith die jumping off a 20-story building onto the sidewalk. The two were hailed as heros by the police force despite their stupid mistake.
When the chance presents itself for Hoitz and Gamble (The Other Guys) to step up, things unfortunately don’t go as planned. Allen begins investigating a simple scaffolding permit violation and winds up uncovering a much larger plot by billionaire David Ershon to cover his company’s losses. As things spiral out of control, Allen and Terry are forced to separate. Allen still attempts to solve the mystery on his own, although Terry thinks it is a dead end. Eventually, he gets believable evidence and earns his real gun back. Allen finally convinces Terry to rejoin him. They stop the criminals who are attempting to scam the money. Allen at first things the $32 billion Ershon seeks will come from the New York Lottery Office, but he finds out that it will actually come from the NYPD retirement fund. Both officers get shot when police backup finally comes, rescuing the two and arresting Ershon and Wesley. Allen and Terry come to believe that the true heroes are the ones who make the world a safer place, not the ones who appear on TV. Ershon’s arrest leads to a stock market crash and a Fed bailout, making the plot relevant to the current news of the day. The movie ends with an artistic shot of a peacock flying by the screen in reference to Terry’s remark “I am a peacock, you gotta let me fly.”
